Anyone out there with me? Here we are, only a few days away of electing our next president, and I really don't have a clue as to what to do. Seems that when Bush was put into office, it was the same situation...the lesser of 2 evils. But in this girls' opinion, that lesser evil only lasted until he was elected. Then the real demon in him came out. I'd really be interested in knowing what everyone out there is thinking on this subject.... am I the only person out there confused as to what to do.....LET ME KNOW!

You could have our choice which is no choice or in other countries you could vote for your local friendly dictator or be killed by a machette your wife and daughter raped and your babies hacked and burned to death.

You have democracy you choose Mugabe or you choose your life. Vote Now [X]

I suppose we should think ourselves lucky whatever the choice. The incoming can turn round to the outgoing and say "Thanks George!! Have ahappy retirement. Oour ex leader Tony Blair is the highest paid public speaker. Made over ?12 million last years. BASTARD!!!

Not panicking. Obvioulsy when you have a mad man with a machette you don't panic. and I hav always been calm.

But I would think he would have calmly stood up said Excuse me children to the class and teacher make a small sentence of how nice it as to meet them but say he ahs been called away. Then leave an aid to carry on.

He did look like he did not have a clue and wanted to be somewhere else "Mummy!!!"

"I see no ships" I think was Drake when the Spanish Armada was seen off the coast and finished his game of bowls. Creating calm and confidence. Nelson put the spyglass to his wron eye and said he did not see the retreat order. Both fantastic men. Nelson amazing came from nothing worked himself up from a cabin boy. Lady Hamilton was also amazing. Sold to be a lor'd concubine while still a child. Then given over to another in a wager of poker. Then went to an elder Lord who married her. She had had to learn to survive by becoming witty and charming and a beauty. Was quite a wit. The met Nelson. Her husband did not mind as was too elderly. I think they were good company for each other. Both from negative backgrounds and prejudice. Nelson had to cope with snobbery despite what he did. They were both very clever people. Unfortunately when Nelson died Lady hamilton ended up in poverty and died in a workhouse. But they both had their time.

Wont put Bush in the same vein as these men. Like Reagan he is not the one in control can see the strings and the arm of the ventriloquist.

Tough times ahead need a head on top of it that can move quick with flexibility. Wondered why it all went to McCain when there were other interesting candidates. Did they really think it would win on his war record?

May still be a question of Black and White but I am sure you would not want to win on that premis that would be a shame.

Junie!!! YOU - a fellow-admirer of Nelson putting someone down for NOT panicking? If you admire the Real Nelson then you must also admire the fictional Hornblower, yes? Where in any of C.S. Forester's books does it say that a leader gains respect by ...When in Trouble When in Doubt, run in Circles, Scream and Shout?

Just think of the trauma of those little kids seeing the President of the U.S. running out to Air Force One like a chicken with his head cut off???

Seriously, I've always thought he showed great restraint in that moment - that it was an action to be admired.

Just my take. :^)

I am not convinced it will make any difference. Obama all ready has the electoral votes to win. Unfortunately I think release of this information will discourage a lot of voters

I have my mind made up. But my oppinion is that once the curtian
is closed behind you in the poll booth, everyones vote will be different than what they say in public.

I am English so obviously wont be voting. but what happens affects us.

But what struck me was that when Bush was told about the 9/11 he just sat there continuing reading "Mary had a little lamb"

I am only a nurse and a crisis response nurse but even so when I am notified of a crisis even a made man on ward with a machette I am immediatley taking action askin who what where why when and what actions and resources we have.

I have never sat wondering what to do wishing I was some where else reading a nursery ryhm.

McCain to old and cannot keep up or be quick and effective enough.
I do not want another president who needs someone else to feed him his lines. God bless and respect the man but he will not keep up. "Crisis? What Crisis? was his response on a question about the credit crunch.

Don't need someone who "sees no ships."
O'bama can keep up and understands the situation overall.

Current situation needs a man with vigour and new insight. cannot stay where we have been for the last 8 years. Pursuing the same policies will just mean worse. Not a good place for any man to take over.

Good luck.

Good luck getting a response to this one. No matter what side you take or how logical the response there will be shrill screeching from the extremists on both sides touting their emotion packed position. For me, the response is that neither truly represents my point of view as our two party system has truly silenced those of us who look to the intent of our founding fathers in the formation of this once great nation to guide us. However, with that said, I intend to push the button for the individual who most closely expresses a belief in the right of all to pursue the career of their choice and receive the compensation they have earned for, in the words of Thomas Jefferson; "Democracy will cease to exist when you take from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not".

To vote should be your own decission. Read what you can, listen to what you can but in the end you should make your own decission.
Good luck!
Politics are a touchy subject especially now near voting time.
